Rutgers University Student Legal Services (RUSLS) provides eligible Rutgers University students with professional legal advice and assistance at no cost by attorneys licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey. The main purpose of the RUSLS is to give students a place to go to begin to have their legal issues addressed and questions answered so that their legal issues do not interfere with their academic pursuits.
In addition, The RUSLS is devoted to education outreach and support of the student development mission of the university by providing programs designed to teach students about their legal rights and obligations.
The RUSLS also promotes and supports the pre-law and professional level education of students thoughout the university.
