Legal Consultation
All Rutgers-New Brunswick students can make an appointment for a legal consultation, free of charge, with one of our in-house attorneys. All consultations are confidential. It is strongly recommended that you make an appointment, but we do our best to accommodate emergency situations.
Pre-Litigation Representation
In certain cases, our office can assist you with your legal matter directly. Once your matter involves litigation, we will assist you through our Approved Referral Attorney program in conjunction with the Middlesex County Bar Association.
Attorney Referral
If our office is unable to help you directly, then we provide you with referrals through our Approved Referral Attorney Program. We have a network of highly experienced attorneys, covering a wide range of competencies, who have agreed to assist students at a significantly reduced rate, and who often consult for free.
Community Outreach & Education
Check our website for upcoming seminars on various legal topics that we will be holding throughout the year. Email us if you have an idea for a topic!
Pre-Law Advising
Interested in a career in law? Make an appointment to speak with Tina Martins Cruz, J.D., Director of the Office of Student Legal Services. Mrs. Martins Cruz has been practicing law since 2001 and her experience includes municipal prosecutor and she currently serves as a municipal court judge.
