The Office of Student Legal Services (SLS) at Rutgers University was opened in September 2010 with a three-fold mission: provide legal guidance, advice, assistance and referrals to eligible university students; hold community outreach seminars and workshops; and provide educational opportunities for interested students in the form of internships and externships.
We are open year-round to all Rutgers-New Brunswick students—full-time, part-time, undergraduate, graduate, and summer. We are located in Piscataway on the Livingston Campus. Interested students can make an appointment to see one of our attorneys for a free legal consultation. We cannot represent you in court, but If we cannot assist you directly, we can refer you to one of our approved network attorneys, who have agreed to see RU students for substantially reduced rates. Our referral attorneys are highly experienced in their respective fields, and are sensitive to students’ needs. We also hold seminars and workshops on various legal topics during the Fall and Spring semesters, and are creating clinical opportunities for interested students.
